  • Learners must aim to achieve a pass grade of 70% prior to attending the IHCD Ambulance Technician Conversion course, this enables course tutors to review areas of weakness if any for development during your course.

  • The MEDICAL module of the course consisting of; Intrduction to the body, Moving and handling patients, Respiratory system, Circulatory system, Cardiac monitoring, Airway management & Resuscitation, Examination & Assessment, Assisting the Paramedic and Infants & Children

  • The TRAUMA module of the course consisting of; Nervous system, Nervous disorders, Skeletal system, Muscoskeletal trauma, Wounds and bleeding and Infectious diseases.

  • This module consists of; Digestive system, Diabetes, Ambulance Law, Major Incidents, Poisoning, Thermal injury, Maternity, Haemodialysis and acute abdominal problems.

  • The 7 day conversion course offers individuals the opportunity to APL current skills and knowledge to apply for certification to IHCD Ambulance Technician level 3. This e-learning platform forms part of the overall course and is designed as a study aid to ensure portfolio completion.

  • IHCD (BTEC Level 3) Emergency Driving award is the nationally accepted award for driving on 'blue lights' within the ambulance service. This 14 day (3 week) course offers the theory and practical skills required to drive in emergency situations. In addition, successful candidates will be able to apply to the IAM for registration.

  • HSE Offshore Medic course is a 4 week / 120 hours offering the skills and knowledge to work in the offshore/remote sector. The course builds on current acute medicine skills and experience offering a 3 year certificate accredited by the Health & Safety Executive.
